Safety is number one. Please vet me. Please ask questions and please make sure whoever you book, they are the right fit for you and your needs!
Will my images remain private?
By default, YES! Your images are at your discretion to share, and we understand that some clients may have more concerns when images are shared. You receive a form on the day you book, where you fill out your preferences. You control of which images are shared, where they're posted, or if they can even be posted at all. You can also choose to remain faceless, or have them fully posted! I ONLY share the final images that show up in your final gallery. Your proof images will only be stored for your own viewing should you need them at a later date, and will never be used online without first asking you. Any images shared by me have been explicitly consented to.
Where do sessions take place?
Photoshoots can take place outdoors, in your home, at a business, in a hotel, or anywhere we have permission to shoot! My studio is JUST an option! My studio is located in downtown Calgary. I can also provide you with a list of other studio options in and out of Calgary!
What does the studio look like?
My studio is located in a 120 year old building, with 11ft ceilings, white floors, and white walls. See more here.
What is a proof gallery vs. final images?
Proof images are unedited images from your session, where you can view images for selection or purchasing. These images have slight lighting touch ups and come cropping, but have no retouching on blemishes or bruises. Final images are whatever images you selected from your proof gallery to be fully edited.
Can I shoot video and photo in the same booking?
Yes! We have special pricing when you combine services.
What is a deposit? How much is it?
A deposit is a non-refundable fee, paid towards your session total. This payment confirms your time slot will be held for you, and will no longer be open for another booking. Deposits must be paid on our booking form in order to confirm a booking, and are $150+GST and a 3% service fee.
Are there situations where my deposit is refundable?
Studio NOVA will refund deposits, as well as any payments made, should the studio need to cancel your session for any reason. You will first be given the option to reschedule.
What if I need to cancel/reschedule my session after I've paid a deposit?
If you cancel your session, your $150 deposit, GST, and processing fee will NOT be refunded. Your non-refundable deposit will not roll over to a rescheduled date. Clients who request to reschedule their date within 1 week of the session will be required to pay a $50+GST re-scheduling fee.
Clients who request to reschedule their date within 6 days of the session will be required to pay a $150+GST deposit to reschedule.
Do I qualify for a payment plan?
Everyone who books automatically qualifies for a payment plan, no matter how far away/soon your session is, how much it will total to, and how much you can afford to pay. You must pay your session total prior to your session.
When will my payment plan begin?
Your payment plan will begin at the time of booking, however we can make changes by request! For example, if you book for 6 month from now, but only have three payments to make, we can start the payment plan three months prior to your session, instead of at the time of booking. You may also pay your session off prior to your session. Your deposit is still required to book.
How often do I make payments on a payment plan? How many payments will I make?
Invoices are sent to you the day you book, along with dates for payments to be made. Pay via e-trasnfer, or debit/credit using the 'pay now' button. You select how many payments to make at the time of booking.
Will I receive my final images before I finish my payment plan?
When on a payment plan following your session (additional images/products purchased after session), final images are sent on the dates you have payments due. You will receive proofs only once your original payment is made.
What size items do you offer?
We cannot guarantee what sizes will be readily available (laundry, previous clients, etc), but we do carry xs-4xl.
How does it work?
Clients will be given the option of using the client closet, and don't need to bring lingerie if they do not have any. We ask that clients bring a thong to wear underneath, so it can remain hidden. We photoshop if it is seen in images.
If I have a concept in mind, can we make it come to life?
I want to make your dreams come true. Whatever that looks like to you, I will do my best to execute it! Some concepts may require additional fees for props, building, prep and cleaning.
Do I need modelling/photoshoot experience?
No! I am here to pose you like a pro!
Are you LGBTQ+ friendly?
As a queer woman myself, hell yeah. Many of my clients/couples identify as LGBTQ+!
What is the Client Closet?
Your personal closet for the day! We carry xs-4xl lingerie for all clients to use at their session. EVERY CLIENT get's this, no matter what.
How 'far' can I go with poses and concepts?
We want to make your dreams come true. Whatever that looks like to you, we will do our best to execute it! We do allow full nudity, erotic poses, and pornographic/erotic imagery. Everything MUST be discussed prior to shooting.
How do I book? What is the process?
Contact to secure a date, then fill out the online booking form. Once your session (and payment plan, if requested) has been confirmed by paying the deposit online, you will receive confirmation via email. If on a payment plan, your email confirmation will provide you details. Your confirmation will have a Boudoir Guide attached for info on how to prepare and what to expect during your session. You will be sent an invoice and receipt for all payments made, so you always know what you owe. I am always just an email away for further questions!
How do I know my session is confirmed?
You will first receive an email confirmation after you fill out the booking form. No sessions are considered confirmed until a deposit has been paid.
Can I add images, products and services after or prior to my session?
Yes, however it's best to give as much of a heads up as possible, as I may have a booking in addition to you during the day, and additional services like makeup may add time to your booking. We will always say yes if the schedule allows it! You may always add/upgrade packages if you wish to purchase more images or products.
Do you have experience posing and working with a range of body types?
Yes, and no session will differ due to your body type. All clients are shot with the same level of care, with the exception of anything the client requests to include or not include. You are always welcome to discuss sensitive areas prior to your session. As my client, you are in control of anything you don't find flattering or appealing, but I do encourage you to trust my eye! I promise you I will find your best angles!
How do you ensure I won’t look awkward in photos? My face or my body.
I have 9+ years of experience, and have tricks to ensure you will look (and feel) comfortable in every image. Trust that I will speak up and guide you where I see fit!
Do I HAVE to be naked? Can I wear lingerie in all of the images? Can I wear something aside from lingerie?
We will shoot clients however they request, at any level of clothing/nudity.
Can I shoot 100% naked?
Yes! I will shoot clients however they request, at any level of nudity.
Can my friend/partner come with me?
Please do not bring additional people to your session without prior discussion! I am more than happy to accomodate you if you feel more comfortable bringing someone.
Is this hygienic?
Yes! We ask that clients bring a thong to wear underneath items, so it can remain hidden. Just like trying on swimsuits at the store, we ask that you keep your undergarments on for hygienic purposes!
